The first of the 3rd edition Battletomes are here in the form of the Orruk Warclans and the Stormcast Eternals. Today I'm delving into the green menace of the mortal realms in the form of the Warclans, but I will also be review format and rules changes in general with the two book and the transition to a new edition.

The Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game: A Long Expected Purchase

While I played what was then the Lord of the Rings game back in the early 2000s when the movies were coming out, it's been at least 16 years since I've taken a serious look at the game. Now my will has finally broken and I've decided to take the plunge yet again into Middle-Earth.

Mengel's AoS3 Destruction Wishlist

With a new edition of Age of Sigmar now out in the world, that also means new Battletomes are approaching, and with them, hopefully new models! Destruction is king of the hill this edition, so I figured I would take a look at what units I would like to see new models for in the rowdiest Grand Alliance.

REVIEW: The Colors of Destruction - Orruk Flesh, Thondia Brown, & Hobgrot Hide

I'm a sucker for new paints, so there was no doubt that I was going to be picking up the three new colors that came out alongside AoS3! As with most of the newer paints recently, they are themed around a certain release, in this case the forces of Destruction. So how do these new paints feel and what options do they bring us?

CLASSIC TUTORIAL: Contrast Eternals!

With the new Stormcast Eternals stuff coming out soon I figured it would be a good time to revisit one of my painting tutorials for them. This method uses Contrast Paint with some metallics and highlights to get a quick and good looking Anvils of the Heldenhammer Stormcast. Although this is used on one of the Sacrosanct models, it will work just as well on the new Thunderstrike armored minis coming out!

GUEST SHOWCASE: Manel's Mechanicus

The moment I came across this army on Instagram I was blown away. Manel has made such an evocative looking Mechanicus army using a variety of models, amazing conversions, and a seriously sharp looking color scheme. Not only that, but his photos of the models with their scenic backgrounds are stunning! I knew right away that I had to ask him to share his models and his thoughts behind them here on Mengel Miniatures.

Rob Hawkins, the Master Miniature Architect

Today I have a special guest interview with Rob Hawkins, the master of miniature architecture! You may recognize his iconic Death scenery, or his detail rich tables for other games like Star Wars Legion and Wild West Exodus, or even from White Dwarf magazines from the early 2000s. Wherever you know his work from, one thing is always true; its astounding!

REVIEW: General's Handbook 2021

A new year means a new General's Handbook, but this year we see some fairly large shakeups to the formula we may have been used to. With the new edition of the game, the General's Handbook has taken on a completely new style closer to what 40k has had for the last year, and I'm a big fan!

TUTORIAL: Dark Marble Bases

When I started on the Stormcast Eternals from Dominion I knew I wanted to give them some unique basing. The main idea is that they're stationed in Lethis in Shyish, so something dark and Death like, but I didn't want to just replicate the same basing as my Death armies. Enter the Dark Marble scheme!

The "Best" Unique Age of Sigmar Army

With the Kruleboyz set to join the party soon I thought I would take a quick look back at the other wholly unique armies to AoS.
