Mini of the Week 9-13-21

Welcome back to Mini of the Week, where every week I will find a miniature from around the web that exemplifies an aspect of our hobby and share it with you.

Snorri the Giant Slayer by Avelorn on CMoN

This may be an older model, but it's a classic, and this modern paint job on it really lets it shine. The skin on this dwarf is amazing. I love how flush the face looks. It really looks realistic and fitting for a dwarf as well. The beard has a nice gradient on it as well. All of the painting is super crisp and smooth. It's also slightly desaturated to look a little more realistic, but at the same time it has just enough vibrancy to it to still pop. The blue and green gems work wonderfully with the warmer skin and hair.

The axes are also spectacular, especially the one he has held up high. That gleam on the golden edge of the axe is fantastic. The basing is nice simple too while framing the model wonderfully. I can just imagine this dwarf making his way down this rocky slope to take on some hideous monster. All around it's a fantastic modern paint job on a classic model.

Be sure to check it out on Cool Mini or Not to see some more views of it and show the artist some love if you like it.

Until next time,

Tyler M.
