What's Old is New Again: The Old World and Movement Trays

It's no secret that The Old World game is coming, and probably sometime in the next year or two at this point. We've even had quite a bit confirmed about it, but there's still a lot of mystery surrounding the return to the world-that-was. A few things we know for sure is that it will be 28mm, so existing armies and models will be compatible, and that it will be on square bases again. With all of the new stuff for AoS though that will seemingly be compatible with the Old World, part of me wonders about how the square bases will be implemented. Join me, on my journey into the speculative for this new game!

Tyler's Tinfoil Hat Time: Globb Glittermaw and Greasus Goldtooth

It's no secret that at the moment the Ogor Mawtribes lack any real special characters. Sure, they have the two Underworlds models, but you can't even buy one of them anymore. While their model line may be lacking, their lore has two prime candidates in the form of Braggoth Varduk and Globb Glittermaw. The second one's name may seem familiar to you if you're a more veteran player; it did to me too, which led me to a debut article style I'm calling; Tyler's Tinfoil Hat Time!

TUTORIAL: Rockgut Troggoth

With the release of the new Contrast colors, I figured it would be a good idea to test them out with a tutorial. A few of the colors seemed perfect for the classic Rockgut Troggoth color scheme and I happened to have a few sitting around unpainted. After a quick test on a spare bit of troggoth it was time for the real deal.

Rob Hawkins, the Master Miniature Architect

Today I have a special guest interview with Rob Hawkins, the master of miniature architecture! You may recognize his iconic Death scenery, or his detail rich tables for other games like Star Wars Legion and Wild West Exodus, or even from White Dwarf magazines from the early 2000s. Wherever you know his work from, one thing is always true; its astounding!

The Value of Older Gaming Books

The Value of Older Gaming Books

The cycle of gaming books (Codexes, Battletomes, etc) is something familiar to any hobby veteran. The shelf life of any given book that contains rules is usually measured in a couple of years. Although the rules may get replaced, it doesn't mean your older book is no longer valuable.

Masterclass Tutorial: Skaeth's Wild Hunt

The Kurnothi of the Wild Hunt are such cool models and entirely unique within Age of Sigmar. As I made my way through the Underworlds Warbands I knew I had to tackle these woodland warriors early on.

Hobby Envy

This is something I'm sure we've all felt at some point or another, whether we're aware of what it is or not. It's hard to avoid, especially with social media, and can eat away at you little by little if you're not careful, so what is it?

The Myth of Modeling for Advantage

We've all heard the term "Modeling for Advantage" before when people talk about conversions, and yes, I'm sure there are some people who would actually do this. Is it really worth the trade off of the stigma this term can bring though?

Warhammer Underworlds: The Perfect Quarantine Game

I've dabbled in Warhammer Underworlds since the game first debuted with Shadespire. I've always enjoyed it, but it's unfortunately suffered due to any hobby/game time I did have being focused on Age of Sigmar more. Now with most of the world in isolation and when a return to gaming normalcy will happen being uncertain, Underworlds has gained a new level of appreciation from me.

Mengel Miniatures Masterclass Tutorial: Rippa's Snarlfangs

Today I have the first of what I'm calling a Mengel Miniatures Masterclass tutorial, focusing on Rippa's Snarlfangs in this one. This isn't my normal step by step tutorial, and is structured more like the old 'Eavy Metal Masterclass articles from the White Dwarf of ages past. The techniques are a bit more advanced, but I go through every step and color that I use!

GALLERY: Epidemius, the Tallyman of Nurgle

The other week I had my unpainted Epidemius conversion to show off, well, now this week he's back in his fully painted glory! I'm really happy with how he turned out and I'll go over a bit of how I painted him as well as some issues that turned out to be great opportunities!
