Mini of the Week 4-24-20

Welcome back to Mini of the Week, where every Friday I will find a miniature from around the web that exemplifies an aspect of our hobby and share it with you.

Fungoid Cave Shaman by wolfen on CMoN

I'm always a fan of bright vibrant colors on models, and this guy ticks all the boxes. Goblins, or Grots, have always looked good in more fantastical colors in my opinion. They embody that high fantasy, storybook aspect of Warhammer. A dark and twisted storybook, but storybook nonetheless. There's not anything radical with the color choices here, but they still look great on the model. There's a reason these are some of the more traditional colors. I just love how bright everything is. From his red mushroom head, to the blue liquid in his flask, to the bright pink squig near his feet. The saturation on this model is turned up to 11.

Everything is smooth and crisp, and the small elements of it really shine. The spots on the mushrooms are nearly perfect, and the little bubbles in the flask are great. There's not any elaborate freehand, but this model doesn't need it. All of the colors are done so well it shines all on its own.

Be sure to check it out on Cool Mini or Not to see some more angles and show the artist some love if you like it.

Until next time,

Tyler M.
