Mini of the Week 4-17-21

Welcome back to Mini of the Week, where every week I will find a miniature from around the web that exemplifies an aspect of our hobby and share it with you.

Lord of Contagion by Flameon on CMoN

I'm always a fan of a clean paint job, and this is definitely a clean paint job. It's especially cool seeing something like this on a "dirty" and "messy" model like a Nurgle marine. I absolutely love how bright and crisp everything is. Your eyes are immediately drawn to the glow coming from his helmet and then you start to wander over the rest of the mini, It appears to be a pre-heresy color scheme for the Death Guard, but then you notice the bright pinks, dark blues, and saturated reds. These aren't colors you'd normally associate with Mortarion's sons, but they work so well on this model.

Not only is the color scheme and overall paint job excellent, but the weathering works wonderfully as well, There are tons of scratches and peeling paint effects all over the model, but none of them detract from the overall clean paint job. It's amazing how precise they are, and all done by hand. The base is equally is good, with some extra height added to the model and an awesome slime glow that ties both into the Nurgle theme and the green glowing parts on the mini himself.

Be sure to check it out on Cool Mini or Not to see some more views of it and show the artist some love if you like it.

Until next time,

Tyler M.
