Welcome back to Mini of the Week, where every week I will find a miniature from around the web that exemplifies an aspect of our hobby and share it with you.
Ogor Tyrant by Łukasz 'zulus' Mazur on Putty and Paint |
The new Ogor Tyrant model is one of the best Ogor models out there from GW and has really shown off some amazing paint jobs. This one is no different. The non-metallic metals of the piece contrast nicely with flatter colors of his skin and the cloth. Everything is smooth and crisp and I really like the overall warm color palette.
My favorite part though are the different animal skins. The spotted hide and tiger stripes look amazing and really emphasize the nomadic hunter aspect of the Ogors. I like that there is even a fur texture painted onto these to help differentiate them more from simple cloth. The base is nice and simple, with some rocks and skulls covered with snow, but has enough variation in height and texture that it's not plain or boring. It still lets the model shine though, which should be the goal of any base.
Be sure to check it out on Putty and Paint to see some more views of it and show the artist some love if you like it.
Until next time,
Tyler M.
