Mini of the Week 4-4-21

Welcome back to Mini of the Week, where every week I will find a miniature from around the web that exemplifies an aspect of our hobby and share it with you.

Necromunda Ogryn by Melnikov Ivan "Nakatan" on Putty & Paint

What can I say about the non-metallic metals on this guy besides wow! I mean, the entire paint job is top notch, but those metallics are absolutely superb! Everything is so smooth with super crisp reflection lines, and the colors being reflected in the metal are spot on. You really get the feeling that they are perfectly shiny. This also does a great job of differentiating the different textures on the model. The leathers feel different from the metals, which all feels different from the skin. Speaking of the skin, again, superb. You have a perfect blend of warm and cool colors and it looks like he used the dot method to paint this model, where they use a soft stippling motion to build up the different colors.

I haven't even mentioned the flashlight on the base. Wow! That legit looks like a real flashlight that's lit up. The rusty textures on the base are another great contrast to the shiny metals on the model as well. Just a really, amazingly well done model.

Be sure to check it out on Putty and Paint to see some more views of it and show the artist some love if you like it.

Until next time,

Tyler M.
