Mini of the Week 1-1-21

Welcome back to Mini of the Week, where every Friday I will find a miniature from around the web that exemplifies an aspect of our hobby and share it with you.

Colonel Willis by Lorenzo "Hound Dog" Robboni

What's better than the Astra Militarum? Man's best friend of course. Any Warhammer piece that includes a dog in it will get an A+ from me. I don't believe there's any conversion on the Colonel himself, but the dog is definitely converted from something. I'm thinking it's probably the dog from the Rogue Trader Kill Team set with a converted head and vest. That dog had pointy ears, and here he has the cute floppers, so that definitely works for me.

The paint job on it is great as well. It's pretty close to the 'Eavy Metal style that I like the most, but with a few tweaks and embellishments of their own style. The colors are the Cadian 8th, otherwise known as the default colors for the Guard range, but it works nicely. Everything is smooth and crisp, with some nice fades thrown in as well. This doggo gets a 13/10 from me. Good boy.

Be sure to check it out on Putty and Paint to see some more views of it and show the artist some love if you like it.

Until next time,

Tyler M.
