Mini of the Week 1-15-21

Welcome back to Mini of the Week, where every week I will find a miniature from around the web that exemplifies an aspect of our hobby and share it with you.

Ogor Tyrant by David Arroba on Putty and Paint

The warm colors on this model are fantastic. I really get a Ghurish feeling from him. It also feels very classic barbarian, like a Conan illustration. Everything about this model is warm, from the tiger pelt, to the very red and tanned skin, and all of the bronze and cold metals. On top of that, all of the metals are non-metallic metal which make the whole thing even more impressive. The weathering works perfectly with it, which is a hard thing to pull off sometimes when you're having to paint all of the reflections on too.

It seriously feels like a very classic fantasy painting. I would love to see more Ogors in this style. It suits them very well! The base has been kept very simple, which lets your eyes focus on the model, though there is just enough there to make me think of a sun drenched savannah. Overall a very nice take on the Ogor Tyrant.

Be sure to check it out on the Putty and Paint to see some more views of it and show the artist some love if you like it.

Until next time,

Tyler M.
