Mini of the Week 11-11-16

Welcome back to Mini of the Week, where every Friday I will find a miniature from around the web that exemplifies an aspect of our hobby and share it with you.

Alarielle by KAHA on Cool Mini or Not
There's no denying this is a super unique paint scheme for any model, and on one as large and detailed as Alarielle it's stunning. It definitely had a psychedelic look to it, and reminds me of those black light painting you would see. The blending on it is super smooth and even more impressive for that fact that it goes from stark black to a bright neon color. Blending from black to any color is challenging, and they have done it over the who model here. The color choices are great with the beetle being slightly more subdued than Alarielle herself, which really makes her stand out. The bright orange of her robes really draws your eye and contrasts well with her grey/blue skin.

Not only is the model impressively painted, but the base is pretty outstanding too. All of that detail is painted onto a flat surface. It perfectly reflects the colors and patterns from the beetle and looks completely organic as well. I think the base may be my favorite part of the model. This is definitely a unique model we are unlikely to see duplicated.

Be sure to check out more views of the model on Cool Mini or Not, and show the artist some love if you like it.

Until next time,

Tyler M.
