Mini of the Week 7-15-16

Welcome back to Mini of the Week, where every Friday I will find a miniature from around the web that exemplifies an aspect of our hobby and share it with you.

Branchwhych by Camelson on Cool Mini or Not

To help celebrate the launch of the new Sylvaneth line I found a wonderfully painted Branchwhych on Cool Mini or Not. I really love this model, it's so simple yet so engaging. The paint job on this is super crisp and clean, and very 'Eavy Metal-esque, which I love. They went for a little more of an overall brown scheme then the official model. I think my favorite part is the crystal scythe. The bright blue contrasts perfectly with the earthy tones found on the rest of the mini. The reflections on it are great and give it a very magical quality as well. The most impressive thing about this mini to me is how quickly it was painted to this standard after the model came out. I believe this went up on Cool Mini or Not only a few days after the model came out. That's some impressive painting for such a short time period.

Have you seen any impressively painted Sylvaneth models around the web or have some of your own? Let me know at tylerm@mengelminiatures.com.

Be sure to check out more views of the model on Cool Mini or Not, and show the artist some love if you like it.

Until next time,

Tyler M.
