Mini of the Week 12-19-20

Welcome back to Mini of the Week, where every Friday (Saturday this week) I will find a miniature from around the web that exemplifies an aspect of our hobby and share it with you.

Celennar by rochellparente

It's interesting to see this model without Teclis on it, but it still works very well! I love the limited palette used on it, mostly just greens, turquoises, and grays. It has a very spooky vibe to it, but still feels regal as a spirit of Hysh should. The face in particular is very evocative with the glowing teal "tears" running down it's face. Everything is very crisp and smooth and the glowing effects from the base are superb.

The base definitely stands out a ton, which is no small feat considering how impressive the model atop it is. I really love the glowing water. It could feel almost serene and then you see all of the skulls underneath the surface. It's really a great exemplar of the Warhammer aesthetic. Even the stuff that is "good" and "honorable" still stands atop mountains of skulls. Everything is tinged with tragedy and darkness. I think this is probably my favorite rendition of this model I've seen, even without Teclis present.

Be sure to check it out on Putty and Paint to see some more views of it and show the artist some love if you like it.

Until next time,

Tyler M.
