Mini of the Week 7-31-20

Welcome back to Mini of the Week, where every Friday I will find a miniature from around the web that exemplifies an aspect of our hobby and share it with you.

Stormcast Magic by Francesco "Franciuus" Farabi
Stormcast Magic by Francesco "Franciuus" Farabi

What an awesome mini! It perfectly exemplifies the Sancrosanct Chamber of the Stormcast. There's so much attitude going on in this piece, with very minimal conversion. I believe the only thing that's been added is the base and the magic effect. I like that the magic is very subdued with just the orb, but it works so well. It has an almost serene quality to it, but still exudes power.

The painting on it is just insane as well. The non-metallic metal effect on both the red armor on the steel is pretty much perfect. It really makes her look pristine as well, with perfectly polished armor. The freehand on the robes is a great touch, and doesn't over power the model. I really like the color choices as well. The red and black is a classic combo, and then using the dark teal for the magic offsets them perfectly. The object source lighting is done wonderfully as well. Really just a great mini all around with a super crisp and smooth paint job.

Be sure to check it out on Putty and Paint to see some more angles and show the artist some love if you like it.

Until next time,

Tyler M.
