Mini of the Week 11-29-19

Welcome back to Mini of the Week, where every Friday I will find a miniature from around the web that exemplifies an aspect of our hobby and share it with you.

Sloppity Bilepiper by David Soper

No one does Nurgle quite like David Soper. To be honest, no one really does miniatures like David Soper. He's a pretty astounding painter. With Gutrot Spume and Horticulus already under his belt, he turned his attention to one of my favorite models in the Nurgle range, the Sloppity Bilepiper. The color choice and technical aspects of the model are perfect. All of the painting is crisp with smooth blends, and he has his trademark stipple technique on full display here. I love the shifts in color on the model's skin alone. It goes from the yellowish green, to a red and a cyan. The pattern on the model's hood is a nice touch to. It's simple, fits the model, and still shows off some amazing skills.

The microbeads and liberal use of gloss varnish definitely gives this guy a sloppy feel, very fitting to his name. The filth being pumped out of the bilepipe is my favorite touch. The base is nice and simple, and feels very clean in comparison to the Bilepiper. All in all this is yet another masterful Nurgle model by Mr. Soper and I look forward to more from him in the future. Imagine if he tackled a Great Unclean One?!

Be sure to check out more views of it on David Soper's website, where you can also look at all of the WIP posts he posted while working on it.

Until next time,

Tyler M.
