Mini of the Week 11-15-19

Welcome back to Mini of the Week, where every Friday I will find a miniature from around the web that exemplifies an aspect of our hobby and share it with you.

Abaddon by Sergey "Ravenswood" Gybin
Abaddon is just a classic mini, and the new version of him is outstanding. Sometimes it's nice to see new takes on a model's paint scheme, but other times I just like seeing really well done takes on the classic scheme. This Abaddon definitely follows the traditional scheme, but they've done an excellent job on it. I really like how vivid and bold all of the colors are. That red is a really saturated red and stands out perfectly against the black. I like how they've created a visual triangle with the red between the head, belt, and sword as well. The addition of the red glow on the sword is really cool as well.

All of the non-metallic metals are great looking and the base is classic Chaos bad guy with the lava and skulls. All in all this is a great rendition of the big bad of 40k.

Be sure to check out more views of it on Putty and Paint.

Until next time,

Tyler M.
