Mini of the Week 7-5-19

Welcome back to Mini of the Week, where every Friday I will find a miniature from around the web that exemplifies an aspect of our hobby and share it with you.

Battle Sisters Last Stand by FrankenNerd on CMoN

If this doesn't show off how well the old metal Sisters of Battle sculpts still hold up today, then I don't know what does. I love the mini diorama created here. It's a great little pyramid of the Soritas, with a good representation of their order throughout. I especially like that they included the Heavy Bolter. The only thing it's really missing is a Seraphim. Everything is smooth and crisp on them, with the subtle reflections and shadows on the white armor being particularly impressive. The saturation on this is just the perfect amount to. It has that 'Eavy Metal feel, but taken to the next level.

The freehand on the banner is ace. It shows off their skill, is elegant, and fits within the context of the universe. I always dislike when freehand banners are just used to show off freehand skills and make no sense within the universe. The display base is nice and simple too, but looks awesome. It doesn't overpower the miniatures, but fits nicely within their theme and frames them. The warm tones of the stones contrast wonderfully with the cold tones of the armor. All in all this is an amazing diorama for the Sisters of Battle.

I also want to apologize for not having this fully typed out when the article went up on Friday.

Be sure to check out more views of it over on Cool Mini or Not.

Until next time,

Tyler M.
