Mini of the Week 7-19-19

Welcome back to Mini of the Week, where every Friday I will find a miniature from around the web that exemplifies an aspect of our hobby and share it with you.

Sister Superior Amalia Novema by castlebrush on CMoN
I've seen a lot of really nice paint jobs on this model, but most of them have been following the box art scheme, which is understandable. This is the first really nice one I've found in an alternate scheme though and I really like it. It's more or less just a reversal of the standard Sisters scheme, but it looks really crisp. The Order of the Bloody Rose really makes them look cool. I like how even though the armor is red the gun was still painted red as well, just a slightly different shade. Combined with the pink/purple wax seals and the pink roses you really get a nice limited color palette. It's basically just red and black with splashes of white and then neutral beiges and grays.

Everything is really crisp and smooth and it has a strong 'Eavy Metal vibe to it. I like how the highlights on her face and hair are much softer than on the armor. It helps them feel like two distinct textures and surfaces.

Be sure to check out more views of it over on Cool Mini or Not.

Until next time,

Tyler M.
