Mini of the Week 4-26-19

Welcome back to Mini of the Week, where every Friday I will find a miniature from around the web that exemplifies an aspect of our hobby and share it with you.

Banshee - The Unfriendly Ghost by Natalia Oracz on Putty and Paint
I can't resist a good ghost, and this is definitely one awesome ghost. The Mymourn Banshee models are already super characterful and this little mini diorama only adds to that. I love the traditional ghost colors chosen here, but of course the thing that really stands out are the lighting effects. On the Banshee herself it really looks like certain parts of it are glowing. The glow bouncing off of the corset is amazingly well done, and the little beads of light trailing down from her are superb. Everything is super smooth and crisp as well and definitely has a realistic feel to it.

The most impressive part that is the lighting on the base. That really looks like shadows being cast by the gravestones! She really nailed the lighting effect and how it would interact with the objects around it. The atmosphere it gives the whole piece is decidedly spooky as well. This is really just an amazing use of the ghostly glow. Amazing.

Be sure to check out more views of it on Putty and Paint!

Until next time,

Tyler M.
