Mini of the Week 2-1-19

Welcome back to Mini of the Week, where every Friday I will find a miniature from around the web that exemplifies an aspect of our hobby and share it with you.

Krieg by Christoph Eichhorn

The Death Korp of Krieg are some great minis, and always look good when painted in a more standard military look in my opinion. I really like the drabness of the armor on these two coupled with the off white cloth. It really makes the piece mostly just three colors, green, white, and the orange of the base. I think it does a great job of moving your eye around the piece, from the banner, to the orange, to the commander, and back again. This whole piece is painted in more of a realistic style, with most of the colors muted and not a lot of high contrast between shadows and highlights. It's much more of a historical look that fits these models perfectly.

The freehand on the banner is great, without going over the top. It always bugs me a bit when the banner on a model has some elaborate freehand on it that would definitely not be used in a real war situation. This design fits the Death Korp, looks great, and draws the eye right to it.

Be sure to check it out the Official Golden Demon website!

Until next time,

Tyler M.
