Sister of Silence by Julian LE FER on Putty & Paint |
There's no conversion here that I can tell, but sometimes a stock model is just allowed to shine with a super clean and good looking paint job. This Sister of Silence definitely ticks those boxes. It's already the strongest pose from the kit, and great for a display piece with its more static yet bold stance. The most impressive thing on here is clearly the non-metallic gold of the armor. It looks corrects and realistic, while also being pretty saturated with color. In fact, this entire model is really saturated, lending it a strong 'Eavy Metal vibe that I like. The blends on the gold are super smooth with really crisp highlights. By keeping the rest of the colors limited, mostly to the purple and black, it really helps you key in on the armor as the focus.
The base is great too, keeping it simple and not too distracting. The look of the palace floor fits with the model's pose since it doesn't necessarily look like she is mid battle. The marble effect is convincing and just as well done as the armor. Most importantly, the colors chosen help reinforce the overall warm pallet of the model. The only thing that looks a little off to me are her eyes. I think the lack of a defining line along the bottom of the eyes makes them look a little too cartoony to me, like eyes painted on a doll. That's a small nitpick though, since they've managed to even get a reflection in the iris. Overall, this is an excellent rendition of a Sister of Silence.
