Mini of the Week 2-28-20

Welcome back to Mini of the Week, where every Friday I will find a miniature from around the web that exemplifies an aspect of our hobby and share it with you.

Lord of Blights by Knix on Cool Mini or Not
The Lord of Blights is definitely in style right now, and this is another beautiful rendition of that model! I really like the bright, smooth colors on it. It gives it a very unique style that reminds me a bit of a comic book. It almost has a cell shaded feel to it. The bright orange really pops against the other more muted colors, but even saying that the green is also fairly vibrant. I think the coolest thing for me though are the tree branches worked into the model. Nurgle has always been about life and rebirth and I think vegetation is very representative of that. I can imagine new growths sprouting off of his warriors as their decay fuels new life. Especially since they're primarily in Ghyran, the Realm of Life.

The base is nice and simple, but still accentuates the model. The way it's piled up draws your eye to the Lord of Blights, but the overall more muted color make sure he still stands out. I like how the land around him seems arid and dead, while he himself is verdant. Overall it's a really nice take on the model.

Be sure to check it out on Cool Mini or Not to see more views of it.

Until next time,

Tyler M.
