Mini of the Week 10-25-19

Welcome back to Mini of the Week, where every Friday I will find a miniature from around the web that exemplifies an aspect of our hobby and share it with you.

Dankhold Troggoth by Alexander Borodenkov on Putty and Paint
The new Troggoth models have had plenty of amazing paint jobs, and this one is no different. The models being so detailed and whimsical really lend themselves to some colorful paint jobs. I really like the colors used on this. The yellows, teals, and pinks go great together and help emphasize the fantastical nature of the Troggoth. The blending between the colors is flawless and and all of the highlights are crisp. The spot colors of the red mushrooms fits the theme nicely and also helps frame the model since they go along his back as well as his base and the shaft of his weapon.

Speaking of his base, I really like what they've done here. It's simple enough to not distract from the mini itself, but definitely helps place the model in a sense of place. I can imagine him emerging from some dank cave. Really, this is just an all around nice rendition of the Dankhold Troggoth.

Be sure to check out more views of it on Putty and Paint.

Until next time,

Tyler M.
