Mini of the Week 11-28-20

Welcome back to Mini of the Week, where every Friday (oops, it's Saturday) I will find a miniature from around the web that exemplifies an aspect of our hobby and share it with you.

Wolf Priest by Rätti on CMoN

Space Wolf conversions can be some of the best Marine conversions out there. I love seeing a non-Space Wolf model, like the Indomitus Chaplain in this case, given all of the Space Wolf accoutrements. Sometimes that can be as simple as some bit swaps, or in this case, extensive sculpting. The sculpting on this is just top notch. It looks like it could be a professional model released by GW. The beard on this guy is magnificent. I also really like how he's gripping the severed Necron head, complete with trailing pipes and wires.

Where other pieces have just been added on, like the cape, it's been blended into the overall model seamlessly. The paint job on this is spectacular as well. Everything is crisp and clean, and the glow effect from the Necron phase sword is wonderful and really draws your eyes towards it. I like the use of red as a spot color as well. It's not something you normally see on a Space Wolf. You really get a sense of story with this guy. From his Deathwatch shoulder pad, to his clear disdain for the Necrons, to all of the wolf fetishes and his amazingly characterful face. He really just feels like a unique individual.

Be sure to check it out on Cool Mini or Not to see some more views of it and show the artist some love if you like it.

Until next time,

Tyler M.
