Mini of the Week 11-13-20

Welcome back to Mini of the Week, where every Friday I will find a miniature from around the web that exemplifies an aspect of our hobby and share it with you.
Fungoid Cave Shaman by ste2 on CMoN

There's something about super vivid and saturated color schemes that just really hit that nostalgia sweet spot. It's very reminiscent of the classic way minis were painted back in the 90s. The color choices are pretty standard for this model, but they're turned up to 11. Everything is super crisp and clean too, which just reinforces the vivid colors even more with the sharp breaks between them. The face is particularly well done, with the eyes standing out the most to me.

The bright green on the base simultaneously evokes the goblin green bases of yore, while also feeling like a slime covered cave. It's also the same hue as the skin, which helps limit the pallet a bit. Overall it's a very nice, retro take on the Fungoid Cave Shaman.

Be sure to check it out on Cool Mini or Not to see some more views of it and show the artist some love if you like it.

Until next time,

Tyler M.
