Mini of the Week 11-23-18

Welcome back to Mini of the Week, where every Friday I will find a miniature from around the web that exemplifies an aspect of our hobby and share it with you.

Knight Questor by Alessandro Gobbi

There are some models that pull off the non-metallic metal look, and then there are some models that excel at it. This is definitely the latter. The reflections on this are astounding with the shadows and highlights switching drastically, but convincingly and smoothly. This guy really looks like highly polished metal, which is pretty amazing. It's even better looking when you compare it to the griminess of his cloak and the parchment. The juxtaposition really makes the metallics pop.

I really like how the base was handled as well. The rich jade green works well with the model, framing it effectively, and the highly polished look of it is something you don't see often. It really looks like a marble floor or something similar. I could definitely see this being a surface within a Silver Tower. All around this is a super high level of painting and definitely worthy of the award it won at the Golden Demons.

Be sure to check it out on the Official Golden Demon website!

Until next time,

Tyler M.
