Mini of the Week 3-9-18

Welcome back to Mini of the Week, where every Friday I will find a miniature from around the web that exemplifies an aspect of our hobby and share it with you.

Endrinmaster by Wiltrichs on Putty and Paint

The Kharadron Overlords really is a fantastic line of miniatures. It really shows off the fantastical side of AoS while dipping a toe into steampunk. This Endrinmaster embodies all of that. There doesn't seem to be any conversions to the model, but that is okay since this is such a strong sculpt already. Everything is painted very clean and crisp, with smooth blends and lovely non-metallic metals. I think what really sells it for me though are the color choices themselves. Something about the warm pallet with the bronzes, creams, and red, really evokes that steampunk feeling while also giving it a distinct 1930's swashbuckling aesthetic. With most of the colors being so close in hue to each other, the "steel" and reds really pop out at you.

The base is nice and minimal, while reinforcing the theme of the model. You can tell it looks like the floor of a hanger or some kind of workshop, with the loose tools and oil stains. Keeping it a warm, cream color helps tie it all into the model as well.

Be sure to check out more views of the model on Putty and Paint and show the artist some love if you like it.

Until next time,

Tyler M.
