Mini of the Week 11-10-17

Welcome back to Mini of the Week, where every Friday I will find a miniature from around the web that exemplifies an aspect of our hobby and share it with you.

Foul Blightspawn by pirotess

There's nothing like seeing a freshly released sculpt painted up to a really high standard in a short time span. This is a wonderful rendition of the Foul Blightspawn model that just came out. There are no conversions on it, but everything is just painted really, really nicely. They've managed to incorporate armor reflections, yet still make the model look dirty and grimy. This is the same for the non-metallic metal, which looks accurate with the highlights and shadows, and still has rust and dirt on it. This is a pretty hard combo to pull off, since usually all of those reflective surfaces are painted to look clean and shiny. There's not much more I can say on this, it's just a very high standard on a lovely model. Everything is crisp and smooth, with just the right amount of weathering to make sure you can still identify this as one of the scions of Mortarion.

Be sure to check out more views of the model on Cool Mini or Not and show the artist some love if you like it.

Until next time,

Tyler M.
