Mini of the Week 12-30-16

Welcome back to Mini of the Week, where every Friday I will find a miniature from around the web that exemplifies an aspect of our hobby and share it with you.

Ahriman by Morback on Blog de Kouzes
The members of Blog de Kouzes never disappoint with their models. Seriously, I think I love everything they put out. This Ahriman was painted by Morback for the Enemies of the Imperium Golden Demon earlier this year. He was striving for a style close to the 'Eavy Metal team's and I think he pretty much nailed it. Everything is super clean and smooth, and of course very bright. I love how much the colors pop on this, and the cream of his robes is insanely smooth. He also uses some OSL (Object Source Lighting) on the hand and cloak, but it's not overwhelming.

I think my absolute favorite part of it though is the base, which he made himself. It perfectly examplifies what I imagine Tizca would have looked like during the Battle of Prospero. It's super clean with perfectly straight lines, and the golden hieroglyphs along the sides of the steps are awesome. The best part though are the mysterious vials and arcane book strewn around the ground. It's the perfect little final touch that really sets the mood for the whole piece. I love it.

Be sure to check out more views of the model as well as a WIP article on it at Blog de Kouzes.

Until next time,

Tyler M.
