Mini of the Week 2-16-18

Welcome back to Mini of the Week, where every Friday I will find a miniature from around the web that exemplifies an aspect of our hobby and share it with you.

Kytan Daemon Engine by A.Demidov on Putty and Paint
This model has so much going for it. First off, it's a great conversion kit from Forge World for the Lord of Skulls. It really makes it much more imposing and gives the opportunity for a very dynamic pose, which is clearly taken advantage of here. The best part about this model though is the way in which the armor is painted. It has a really cool marble look to it, while also looking like hellfire. This is the most refined model in terms of crispness, but it's more than made up for with the overall effect. It really catches your eye and makes all of the flat armor plates visually interesting. It has just the right amount of weathering on it too. The base is nice little bit of diorama too, adding a sense of place without overpowering the model itself.

Be sure to check out more views of the model on Putty and Paint and show the artist some love if you like it.

Until next time,

Tyler M.
