Welcome back to Mini of the Week, where every Friday I will find a miniature from around the web that exemplifies an aspect of our hobby and share it with you.

Guilliman by REDAV on Cool Mini or Not |
There's no question that Guilliman is an awesome model, and there have been plenty of really great paint jobs on him already. A Primarch deserves no less after all. This one stands out to me though for how extremely crisp it is. There's nothing revolutionary here. Everything follows the studio color selection, but it's all just done so very well. The blues are deep and rich, going from a near black to an almost pure white highlight in perfect blends, while the armor reflections are spot on. The non-metallic gold is done to a very high degree as well. It looks convincing, and impressive, but not in a way that distracts from the rest of the model. The fire elements are what really stand out to me. They frame the model, forming a triangle between the two torches and the sword. The sword almost seems to have a texture to it too, which makes me think this model may have been highlighted with a stippling method, which makes it even more impressive in my book. This is just a very, very well done Guilliman model, no fancy conversions, no out there color schemes, just an expertly painted model that is at the top tier of painting.
Be sure to check out more views of the model on
Cool Mini or Not and show the artist some love if you like it.
Until next time,
Tyler M.
